Wanted: Piercing Artist Recommendations

I'm looking for a good piercing salon anywhere in the LA area. A good, trustworthy, piercing artist is worth a higher price and/or a bit of a drive. If you know of one, will you please let me know? Thanks!

Grandpa was crouching down to pick up some crumbs off the floor and he fell over. Fortunately he wasn't far from the ground when he toppled, and the floor is carpeted, so there's no damage. He can't pick himself back up again without help though, so Grandma and I spent a few minutes getting him back up again. The only part that scared me was the fact that his mouth was full of food and I was worried he would choke. (You see, for Grandpa, the time he spends chewing his food is time he could can be doing other tasks...*sigh*)
Anyway, Grandma is not happy with him 'cuz he wouldn't stay in his chair after this until after the 3rd or 4th time she told him to sit down and stay put for a few minutes. She also took the opportunity to point out that this kind of situation is the reason their kids keep bringing up the idea that in the not-too-distant future it would be a good idea to have someone (a paid professional) come live with them full-time. Of course, when that happens I will need to find someplace else to live because said Aide would move into the room I'm currently living in.

I have a job interview tomorrow! I had a really good phone interview this evening and they asked me to come in tomorrow at 3:30! So, cross your fingers, say a prayer, light a candle or something for me tomorrow, if you please!

Car - SOLD!!

I sold my car today, and boy do I need the money!! I was really stressed out all day over this and I'm still having a hard time believing it's really taken care of. I'm worried that they'll decide the car was more broken than they realized and change their minds. That would suck SO much! I really hope that doesn't happen.
So, I'm rejoicing, but afraid to get too elated 'cuz I'm worried it won't work out. :/

I'm going to see the Doctor in a little bit. I still haven't found a new one yet, so I'm still going to my old antibiotics-cure-everything Doctor. I hope it's a productive visit, but my hopes aren't that high... :/

I hate to bug y'all with this, but I'm still looking for work. If you know about any job openings in your office, (or anybody's office), I would *love* to hear about it.
I'm looking for Administrative Assistant / Clerical / Entry level office work. I've got 1.5 years Admin. experience and a Bachelor's degree. I'm looking for something that pays at least $14/hr.
Answering want-ads just isn't enough in this economy. The book "What Color is Your Parachute" says that the best way to get hired is through people you know. Right now, I think it's the ONLY way.

Road Trip!

Well, sorta. Tomorrow I'm taking the train up to Eugene, OR, to borrow my dad's car. (My car is broken and not worth fixing.) So I'll arrive in Eugene at noon on Saturday (after a 26.5 hour train ride), hang out on Sunday, then drive back down Monday and Tuesday. Not sure where I'll stop - depends on where I get too tired to drive anymore. I'm looking forward to visiting a few people while I'm up there, and also eating some delicious ramen at Toshi's (best ramen on the west coast!) I'm also going to make sure and eat some stuffed fries at Taco Time. Mmmm...
Anyway, I'll be bored and Tweeting way too much on my trip, and if you want to get the Tweets I'm #KimBrunner.

Blargh! I know I should post something, but I'm feeling really lazy.

Burning Man was so many different things I will just give you a list of some adjectives that I remember experiencing: Hot, dusty, exciting, exhausting, amazing, beautiful, boring, drunk, fast, slow, up and down. Getting there and back was another adventure, but that was just exhausting.

Then I came back and, after a couple of days, got sick. I *never* get sick, and this really wasn't a good time, but what can you do? After several days my grandma finally convinced me to see my doctor, and of course by then I was almost better. He surprised me by *not* prescribing antibiotics, but just some OTC stuff. One of these is Claritin-D (which has Sudafed in it, apparently) and I think it's making me high. 0_0 But why did it take several hours to kick in? Maybe it's all in my head...

Huh, guess I felt like writing after all!

Going to go trip out in front of the TV now.

We're going up to SF to pick up some people and then Sunday we're driving out to the playa. The plan is to get there at dawn on Monday when it opens!

Teabags

Yuck! This tea I'm drinking tastes terrible! Unfortunately, I have to drink it every night (doctor's orders...)

I got bored waiting for the tea to brew, so I decided to try making my own teabag. I made a little pouch out of some cheesecloth, and I had some mint from the garden that I'd dried, so I crushed it up, put it in the pouch, and voila! Teabag. I took pictures too, but I can't find the cable I need to upload them to the computer.

Wow, I slept a LOT last night. Probably won't be able to sleep tonight, but it was worth it!

Lyondemere Anniversary was great, but I was exhausted at the end of the day! It was really neat to be involved in an investiture court.

Now, what to do with my free time?...

Final exam score: 91% ( 137 out of 150 points).

Final grade: probably an A.

So, I did not get the summer internship I applied for.

*sigh*

Here's the whole (fracking) long story. Warning: it's kinda long, and pretty boring.

Summer, 2008: My boss tells me about this museum that is going to need some help and it would be great experience for me and they will probably be looking to hire on some interns in the fall (of 2008).
Fall, 2008: Boss tells me that instead of fall 2008 they're looking at maybe spring 2009. Or summer?
January, 2009: Boss tells me that it's definitely going to happen in the summer... if they can get the funding.
February, 2009: THEY GOT THE FUNDING!! OMG!! APPLY FOR THE INTERNSHIP YESTERDAY!! (Which means tracking down people for letters of recommendation, writing a letter of intent, polishing my resume and shelling out $30 to FedEx the application. P.S. They only had a 3 week window for applications.)
March, 2009: Got the app in on time. Waited.
April 6th: Got an email - they want to interview me!! TOMORROW.
April 7th: Interview went fine! They'll call me in 2 weeks and let me know! More waiting.
April 17th: They call to tell me that they didn't get as much funding as they originally thought they would, and they had already promised one internship to someone else. BUT, they could offer me housing, just no stipend. I tell them I'll look into my finances and get back to them.
April 20th: I make them a (very reasonable) counter-offer and they say they'll get back to me Tues or Weds.
April 24th (Friday): Now they have to check and make sure they can actually offer me housing.
April 28th: Turns out they can't offer me housing after all, and thus, no internship for me.

But, aside from being exhausted, I'm feeling alright about it. There were a bunch of activities here in LA that I would be missing if I'd gotten the internship, and this way I'll be able to work for actual money this summer. Still, it would have been nice to get a break from SoCal for a bit...
